Alexander Wolfe – album ‘From the Shallows’ out now
One of the finest up and coming folk-pop and roots acts on the scene at the moment, London singer-songwriter is making friends and influencing people on both sides of the Atlantic ocean with his smooth voice and tall tale spinning tracks.
Full of intricate ideas, picked acoustic guitar lines and flowing vocal melodies, his tracks blend together perfectly as a full 13 song album, while each manages to have it’s own identity too. Whether it’s taking on full, lushly produced tunes of layered strings and harmonies, or in its quieter moments with just one or two instruments on the go, this album is definitely assured in its own skin.
And how can you not love a folk-pop album that comes with both a fully functioning and effective horn section and the drama of a full compliment of strings. Lovely stuff.
