New single: Des Horsfall’s Kuschty Rye and Pete Townshend release ‘Chameleon’
Released this Friday (Dec 11th), ‘Chameleon’ is a must for all true folk fans.
Not only is it a poignant reminder of how beautiful the genre can be, it also marks a unique genre collaboration between two performers, a fantastic writer and a tribute to a music legend.
The two performers are well-known folk artist Des Horsfall and The Who’s Pete Townshend – who should need no introduction. The pair came together for the track when Townshend learned of Horsfall’s new album ‘The Bastard’s Tin’. That album will be released next year, and pays tribute to siminal Brit rock bassist Ronnie Lane. As a fan of Lane, Townshend was drawn to the project and Horsfall was more than willing to collaborate for the single release.
The final piece of the puzzle is Katy Lane. Formerly Ronnie Lane’s wife and muse, she penned the lyrics as a posthumous love letter. It makes for a track which is not only a single, it is a collector’s item.
