Rebecca Newman and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra – ‘Dare to Dream’
The culmination of a lifelong ambition to sing with an orchestra and record an album while doing so, ‘Dare to Dream’ is the new album from Rebecca Newman, a crossover-classical vocalist who is joined in the recording by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Conducted and arranged by Paul Bateman, and featuring Classical BRIT award winners Blake and Mary-Jess Leaverland, it’s an album that could well offer Rebecca Newman a route into the classical big leagues.
A lovely mix of songs – from out and out classical arrangements to new iterations of well known ‘pop’ songs, plus a couple of original tracks put together for good measure – this really is an album which never hits a wrong note. It’s really brave, when putting some very well established songs on the album, to then include a couple of your own without worrying that they will suffer in comparison. And, thankfully, they don’t.
For proof, check out the title track, an original song with all of the grandiose trimmings you would expect:
