Why Arsenal will win their third FA Cup in a row
Arsenal are one of England’s most successful football clubs and the Gunners have won the FA Cup in each of the last two seasons.
Prior to their victory over Hull City in the 2014 final, Arsene Wenger’s men had failed to win major silverware since “The Invincibles” avoided defeat for the entire 2003-04 season.
Arsenal fans were getting frustrated at the club’s lack of progress and were calling for Wenger’s head but the Frenchman has bounced back, leading the Gunners to back-to-back FA Cup triumphs.
Meanwhile, they are at the time of writing sitting just a few points off the top of the Premier League table and are in the last 16 stage of the Champions League.
While they stand a chance in both competitions, the Gunners will look for a third FA Cup success at the very least – and here’s why they will win England’s oldest and most prestigious cup tournament.
It won’t be easy but Arsenal have more than enough quality in their ranks to win a third straight FA Cup trophy.
Despite losing a number of key individuals to injury throughout the campaign, the Gunners have managed to continue their momentum towards the top of the Premier League table.
As the season progresses, the FA Cup may be overlooked. However, Arsenal will be looking to fight on all fronts this campaign. Even in the Champions League, they will still give Barcelona a tough game over two legs in the last 16 stage of the competition.
Arsenal have been drawn at home against Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup. This is a match that the Gunners will be expected to win. Wenger’s men will be heavy favourites and an expectant Emirates Stadium will be hoping for plenty of goals if Arsenal choose to turn on the style.
At the time this article was produced, Arsenal are 13/2 in bet365’s FA Cup betting markets. Those are odds that still give reasonable value to those who want to back the Gunners to go all the way again this season.
If they maintain their current form throughout the second half of the campaign, they will be extremely difficult to beat.
Ultimately, Wenger’s managerial skills will come to the test throughout the season but the Frenchman will prove that he is more than capable of leading this Arsenal team on multiple fronts.
In the past, many have questioned Arsenal’s resolve and ability to maintain a genuine title challenge and they will have the opportunity to do just that this season.
Meanwhile, the FA Cup will be a nice little addition to what could be a prosperous and successful campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
With any cup competition, the luck of the draw will come into it but Arsenal have enough quality to win both the Premier League title and FA Cup this season.
Wenger will be keen to challenge on multiple fronts this season as he looks to win over some of his doubters, as well as furthering his legacy as the greatest manager in Arsenal’s illustrious history.
With a bit of luck, the Gunners will win the title this season, however, Arsenal supporters would settle for a third successive FA Cup triumph over nothing.
