Five of the Coolest EV Cars
There has been a reluctance among some people to get onboard with EVs despite the market for them growing fast and threatening to make serious in-roads in the car market. Part of this reluctance has been due to a lack of infrastructure, along with a lack of insight and knowledge into the realities of running an EV car in 2020 and beyond. But as they become more accessible, they are also becoming sleeker and more appealing visually to their conventional rivals. Here are some of the newest and coolest on the market.
Tesla Model-3
The Tesla Model-3 is a sleek, streamlined saloon vehicle that looks great on the highway or around town. It comes in some unique colours of red and silver, which, along with its futuristic body shape and sought after technology, make it stand out from the crowd. But it not only looks great, but the Tesla Model-3 can also reach 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds, outperforming many of its near-competitors on acceleration. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite outperform them on price, but there is a budget version of the car on the way.
Nissan Leaf
The Nissan Leaf was one of the first and most successful EV cars launched back in 2010. It was one of the leading vehicles to replace the majority of combustion engine saloon cars for people who wanted to go green. Since 2010 it has grown in popularity and gained a reputation for quality manufacturing and reliable performance. The latest Leaf, launched in 2020, uses a 62 kWh battery pack that gives it a range of 239 miles on a single charge. For EV enthusiasts, that’s a pretty cool development.
Jaguar I-Pace
There is hardly an uncool thing about a Jaguar car, and the fact that it’s electric-only serves to rev up its cool factor. This vehicle is everything that you have come to expect from the iconic brand: it is comfortable, modern, and delivers excellent performance on its electric battery. The Jaguar I-Pace is up-to-speed with what consumers want. For years now, Jags main competitors, Audi and Mercedes, have been promising an EV family saloon car just like the I-pace, but nothing has transpired.
Suzuki Vitara
SUVs have a cool factor of ‘very high,’ which just got higher without the need to gas-guzzle. If you want an SUV that doesn’t cost the earth and looks as good as any conventional model, then check out the Suzuki Vitara. This vehicle offers up to 282 miles on a single charge, which is an excellent range considering its dimensions. OK, so it looks a little conservative on the outside – that has it’s advantages too – but inside, you can benefit from more room in the cabin and a high-quality interior. Contact your local Suzuki Dealer for more information.
BMW i3
You will have noticed the BMW i3 on the emeralds while driving. They are those small compact looking EV cars that make you look twice. This vehicle’s design and style is just not something you will find outside of the EV market. And inside the EV market, it’s also unique, not just in terms of design and dimensions, but also in terms of its power and range. The i3 sacrifices range for power, but that’s because it’s made for inner-city driving and quick accelerations. It may not take you on a long-haul trip, but you are eye-catching and super functional.
