Singer-Songwriter Tay Cousins to Release ‘Smoke in My Lungs’

This August sees the debut single release from talented acoustic singer-songwriter Tay Cousins with her new track ‘Smoke in My Lungs’.

The fresh-faced singer, still only 19 years of age, has generated a significant buzz since her humble beginnings posting her unique acoustic covers to YouTube. Bringing her to the attentions of Greenleaf Entertainments, since signing for them Cousins has gone on to have her music featured on BBC Introducing, undertake a number of TV Interviews and impressively won the Warehouse Talent Spot. Out of this, Tay was given the chance to perform at the Warehouse store opening in Trinity Leeds, capping a growing list of notable gigs which includes playing at Dublin Castle and Birmingham Pride Festival.

The Welsh singer, now based in Leeds, has received plaudits for her distinctly heartfelt vocals and soulful performances. ‘Smoke in My Lungs’ communicates this warmth immediately, as Tay weaves her beautiful vocal melodies with deft acoustic chords. The nature of her stripped-back songs pay testament to Cousins’ abilities as a singer-songwriter. Navigating the line between indie and pop, Cousins’ sound is accessible but with a certain edge that sets her apart from commercial singers. The production from Jamie Cleaton can be heard on the track, as Tay’s vocals are heard with complete and breathtaking clarity.

‘Smoke in My Lung’s is released on August 26th. Listen to the new single here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7T0PBi9KcQ
