Staying in – Things to Do in Lockdown
It’s looking as though we’re all going to be spending a lot more time at home over the next few months. We can’t be sure what the future will bring, but we do know that right now, coronavirus is spreading and that we all need to do our best to limit the damage.
Having already spent a lot of time this year at home, you might be starting to get a little bored of your same walls. But, chances are, you haven’t yet exhausted all of the things that you could be doing with your lockdown. Here’s a look at some ways to spend your time.
Prepare for Winter
Winter can be challenging. Many of us face issues at home; boiler breakages, roof leaks, frozen pipes and other problems that can mean that we are uncomfortable, and perhaps facing costly damage. If you are going to be spending more time at home this winter, the risks could be even higher. Spend a little time now making sure that your home is ready for the coming cold spell. Hire help from quality plumbing and heating services and get any other issues fixed.
Clean Your Car
Our cars also take a big hit in the winter months. The outside and inside can become muddy, and things can get dirty quickly. Use this time to give your car a thorough clean, both inside and out. Then, top-up fluid levels and carry out some basic safety checks that you might usually neglect.
Start a New Home Workout
If you managed to get a few months back at the gym, you did well. But, now things are closing again, it’s important to keep fitness levels up. Outdoor running in bad weather has many benefits, but, if you’d prefer this is a great chance to try something brand new at home. Set Up Your Home Office
If you’ve been working from home, it might be time to accept that this could become a more permanent arrangement. If you are still working on your sofa, you may find that setting up a home office (be it with items from https://www.officemonster.co.uk/office-furniture or otherwise) helps you to work more productively and that it makes it easier to separate work and home life.
Make a Plan
Many of us have had a rough time this year. People have been made redundant. They are unsure whether they will still have a job in the coming months, and some people have had to reduce hours or change their roles. Use your time in lockdown to think about what you want to do, and how you could get there.
Take a Course
If you decide that you want to change your career, or start something on your own, this might be an excellent opportunity to take a course and learn more.
Other things that you could do at home include learning a language, learning how to cook, Christmas shopping online and keeping in touch with family and friends. You might want to stay away from Zoom quizzes this time though.
