Frankel was one of the finest racehorses ever produced. He won all 14 of meets, rising to the occasion to claim victory in the most prestigious of events. The bay stallion was dominant over a three-year period, with highlight triumphs at the St James’s Palace Stakes, Sussex Stakes, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the International Stakes.

He signed off his racing career with a win at the Champion Stakes at the end of 2012 at Ascot, leaving the sport as one of the most distinguished competitors in its history. Frankel’s legacy is now continued by his offspring, who are now beginning to make an impact on the circuit.

One of the horses, Monarchs Glen, has his first major test to determine whether he can channel the success of his sire into victory at the Dante Stakes.

The bay colt will be facing a tough challenge to secure the victory in an extremely competitive field, but has proven his pedigree in the past with fine performances. As a result, tracking his progress along with the rest of Frankel’s fledglings is a must via tipping sites such as The Winners Enclosure racing odds and Frankel tracker due to his impressive form.

The three-year-old only made his racing debut towards the end of the last season. Monarchs Glen made his bow at Goodwood in the Stallions Maiden Stakes and put forward an impressive performance, only to be edged out by a head on the line by Celestial Spheres.

However, his fortunes were to change in his second outing as legendary jockey Frankie Dettori took the saddle.

Once again, Monarchs Glen competed at Goodwood, this time in the Maiden Stakes. He secured his first victory, winning the race by one-and-three-quarter lengths, emulating the triumph of his sire in the same meet at Newmarket in 2010.

The bay colt returned to action after a six-month absence from the track at Kempton Park in the 32Red Handicap. He faced a stern test from the race favourite Big Challenge, but he rose to the occasion to defeat the Irish horse with an outstanding run.

Monarchs Glen dominated from the off, taking an early lead at the second furlong. He never looked back before cantering down the stretch, finishing one length ahead of his rival.

The three-year-old had the first setback of his career at Sandown Park in the bet365 Classic Trial. Although Dettori remained in the saddle, and the bay colt got off to a strong start in the meet, he faded drastically down the stretch and was knocked back into fourth place as Cunco, Intern and Frankuus all finished ahead comfortably ahead of him.

Experienced trainer John Gosden will have time to get the horse prepared the challenge of racing strong competitors at York racecourse. It will be an important meet for the bay colt as Gosden has already ruled him out of contention for the Epsom Derby later in the schedule.

As a result, for Monarchs Glen to continue on his upward trajectory he will need another victory or at the least a top-three finish at the Dante Stakes to maintain his path for higher glory later in his career.
